Go Ahead: Get to Know Yourself

Updated: Apr 28, 2021

Polonius:

This above all: to thine own self be true,

And it must follow, as the night the day,

Thou canst not then be false to any man.

Farewell, my blessing season this in thee!

"Gnothi Seauton" (Know Thyself)- Socrates

How can we be true to our own self, if we do not truly know our self?

We think we know ourselves until life throws us a curb ball, a situation, a person, an event in life, that makes us question everything we thought we know about our life, living, the kind of person we are and the kind of person we would like to be.

When we know who we are, what our strengths and weaknesses are, what makes us tick, we can be true to ourselves and we can be true to life. We can enjoy life to the fullest!

My friends often tell me, I am one of those persons who analyzes things and "thinks too much". However, I agree with Socrates, who is credited with the aphorism "Know Thyself", and also said "A life examined is a life not worth living".

I analyze myself at great length, (I do enjoy this) and I wanted to get to this task from a truly authentic and scientific way. I've found a number of truly interesting, in depth assessments and quizzes that I can do on the web, and I will share some of my findings as I go along this journey and challenge of joy, bliss and living life to the fullest.

One of my favorite websites for assessments and other information is the Authentic Happiness site. Even if you haven't read the book Authentic Happiness by Martin E. P. Seligman Ph.D, (I highly recommend it!), you will find a lot of information and assessments based on Positive Psychology on this site.

Go ahead, read the book, take a quiz, and get to Know Yourself, so you can Be True to Yourself!

¡En-JOY!
